watching... waiting.... anticipating

I've been watching planes for years. As a child, my mother lived near an airport, so every time we went to see her, I'd be taken to see the planes. My first experience with flying came as an adult though, when I'd watch planes waiting for my husband to come home, then when we travelled inter-city, though we always prefered the slower road transport. You get to see more and experience more.

The anticipation of our flight to Brazil was a mixture of crazy feelings... excitement, fear, thrill, sadness. Then there was the anticipation of waiting for friends' flights.... until the last flight left and there were no more. The photo was taken when Tat flew back home to stay with her godmother for a couple of months. Now that was anticipation! Counting off the days till her return. My first taste of empty nest syndrome. Hope I'm better prepared when the real thing hits.

Now, we watch planes flying overhead. We watch, we wait, we wonder when we'll get to fly again.
